Worl Class University

In 2009, Yogyakarta State University launch a new program International Level of Education or we called World Class University ( WCU ). This program have purpose to introducing Yogyakarta State of University into global education. To starting this program, a university sides increasing level of activities, increasing knowledge professors and students, and increasing facilities of college. To realizing this program, a university sides start in some faculty and ones of them is mathematics. In this program, a university sides create a new class. In this class, all transformation lessons are using English language. But, when we look in curriculum, they are as same as with non international class. They just pointed in IT education and knowledge in International rooms.

According to Mr. Marsigit’s stories, an leaders of WCU program, to doing this program needed expensive founds. Beside that, it is must be supported by good professors experiences, and have international certificates. To get this criteria this university not so easier because just little professor have all criteria. So, to successes this program, Mr. Marsigit’s and President of Yogyakarta State University, Mr. Rochmat’s sent professor to short course in others country. This is purpose to increasing professors skills when teach, including increasing their knowledge about global education. Beside that, a launching World Class University has advantage for professor to publish their science papers and journals in international level.

I think, a student of Yogyakarta State University, this new program is so wonderful. I am so proud and full support about this program because it can make this university names were known by everyone. But, to successes this program not so easier because there are so many equipments must be prepared. We are as a student must support them with study hard and get greats GPA. In this case, the global education can see that Yogyakarta State University can stand right and success creating genius people for bright future. I hope this program just only held in mathematics faculty, but in all of faculties. So,it can makes Yogyakarta State University was known by everyone and so finding by everyone.

Mathematical Research

In Marsigit’s opinion, there are three elementary factors to getting mathematical research. First, you need to references on how to do mathematical research. To find references you can browse in internet. There are many references at there. You should just not to focus in ones author, but you must find it more. Second, the nature mathematics. Mathematics is a science or system which is constructed by deductive method composing definition, axioms and theorems in such a way that there is no contradiction in side. Third, you find out the definitions of mathematics. Formal mathematics of axiomatic mathematics its very easy to construct mathematics system.

There are example of mathematics system, there are :

  • Grow Theory

  • Ring Theory

  • Fied Theory

  • Numbers Theory

  • Euclidean Geometry

  • Non Euclidean Geometry

  • Number System

The aims of mathematics system is to examine and stabile new system of mathematics. But to reach the aims, there are aspects to be understudied before. There are definition, axioms, theorems, and rule/laws/progdure. Beside it, you must notice the supposing factor, there are:

  • Your knowledge of mathematics

  • Your knowledge of the history of mathematics

  • Your knowledge of the mathematics

  • Your knowledge of developing mathematics

There are can be do with learning from the history and the philology of mathematics.

Hilbert, a formal mathematics, have statement that, “Just One and Only One System Of Mathematics.” This statement is used for long- long times. But someday, his student can broken-down this statement with “GODEL” Statement. In these theorems, he says that,

  • You can completing system mathematics, but you can’t do with consistent

  • You can do consistent in system mathematics, but you can do with complete system.

How To Increase English Of Mathematics

I. Property Of Logarithm

Logarithm is a once form of mathematics. In mathematics lesson study we have many formula about logarithm. For example is logь X is equal Y. This is equivalen with b power of Y is equal X. Ten log X is equal log X. This is can be happen because log of ten is equal one.

In problem solving we can use this is form. For example log of ten power of one hundred is X. We can solving this problem with first form. So we have ten power of X is equal one hundred. Finally we have the point of X is ten.

In other problem, we have multiplication of logarithm. For example is logь of M times N is equal with logь M plus logь of N. We just see in other form, too. Logь of M divide N is equal with logь of M minus logь of N.

With this form, we can conclution that multiplication of logarithm is solve by additional of logarithm, and the divide of logarithm is solve by subtraction of logarithm.

II. Common Factor and Grouping

Common factor is one form to find factor of number. This is can be find by a product. The product should be in prime number. For example is fifeteen. Fifeteen is made with three times five. Fifeteen in this calculation is called product and three times five is called prime number. So if we have any product we should be to find the factor just only in prime number.

In common factor we have too Greatest Common Factor or called GCF. This is can be find by the smallest exponent form their product. For example is fourty five and sixty. The prime number of fourty are three square and five. The prime number of sixty are two square, three and five. We can calculaton the GCF with multiply the same prime number from fourty and sixty. Them are three and five. So, the Greatest Common Factor of them is three times five and this is equal fifeteen.

In second method to finding the GCF we can find by divide the product number with same prime number. For example, we given the product are thirty six, sixty and one hundred eighty. Them all should be to divide by the same prime number. The first is two, then two agains and the last is three. The GCF is prime number divided. So we have the GCF are two square times three is equal twelve.

III. English Trigonometry Functions

The trigonometry functions is used to find the value of the other sides of triangle. The triangle must on ninety degree. There are six sides base of triangle. Them are sinus, cosines, tangent, cosecant, secant and cotangent. We can find all value of them with triangle picture help. In triangle we call the height is opposite, the base is adjacent and the last is hypotenuse.

To find sinus and all base of sides, we can read this form :


IV. Factoring Polynomials

Factoring polynomials is form to find the factor. The factor should be dividing until we get zero. There are long division for a third order polynomials, them are :

· Find a parcial quotient of X square, by dividing X into X power of three to get X square.

· Multiply X square by the division and subtract the product from the divided.

· Repeat until we get the zero answer.

For example, X power of three minus seven X minus six is divide by X minus three. We can to write the calculation with detail like this :


After we finish the calculation, we get X square plus three X plus two. We should to find the factoring polynomials of the problem with factoring x minus three and X square plus three X plus two. So we get that X are minus two, minus one or three.


V. English Functions

English functions or variable functions is a form of mathematics algebra. This is made from two or more variables. The variable called X, Y and Z if there are three. There are function terminology of algebra :

· An algebraic statement that provider a link between two or more variables.

· Used to find the value of one variable if we know the value of the others.

For example, Y is equal two X. If we know X, we can find Y. If X is five, we can find that Y is equal two times five. This is equal ten.

VI. English Parallelogram

In geometry lesson study we know what about a plane. This is have uniqe charactheristic because them are abstract. We can’t to see them in our life because them are consider from two dimension. There are many kind;s of plane like square, triangle, circle, hexagonal, quadrilateral,etc. In quadrilateral there are many kinds, one from all is parallelogram. Parallelogram is a quadrilateral but the opposite of side are parallel. If we draw the parallelogram we can see like that :






From this draw we can conclution that there ara two relation. The side AB is parallel with side CD, and side AD is parallel with side CB.
